Mr. Oakes

I want to send you a quick note to say Thank you for helping us get Mr. Pew Pew back alive.
When Pew Pew went missing, we posted signs, walked the neighborhood, even checked with the local shelter and vet's offices. After 5 weeks of him being missing we kind of lost all hope. We were told you can't follow a scent trail with a search dog after a week.

Then my cousin who lives in Milwaukie, Ore. recommend we call you. They had used you to find their dog five years ago.

You said scent can be tracked up to a year. I was quite surprised. Anyway, you brought your dogs out and tracked  Pew Pew to an alley way where there is a gas station and bakery next to each other and a large briar patch in the lot next door. Your dogs stopped at the briar patch and you said your dogs indicated Pew Pew was very much alive.

When we tried to get the gas station to pull their security camera footage they refused.
Very frustrating. The woman who works at the bakery, Linda is her name, said that they feed several cats in the alley way every day.

By following your instructions, pee trails, setting up a home away from home, live trap, we got Pew Pew back alive yesterday. Mr. Pew Pew had been missing a total of 6 weeks before we were able to get him home. I took him to the vet's office yesterday and they gave him a clean bill of health.

I can't thank you enough for your service. I must admit I was skeptical at first but am now a true believer in you and your skills, your dogs. Give Mr. TYLER and MS CINDY LOU a big hug from all of us and thanks again. If you ever need any references, feel free to ad our names to your list.

Respectfully
Ron Taylor, Susan Taylor and of course Mr. pew Pew.

Although I'm not quite retired, I'm getting there.

Part of me can't wait until I just walk away from all the trauma and drama that comes along with the K9 SAR work.

The ungrateful clients, the harry haters, the assholes that like to post fake b.s. about me and my work on social media.

I keep trying to keep focused on why I got involved in SAR in the first place.

To help others in need.

But when you get blasted weekly by the people you are trying to help it get's frustrating.

I understand they are angry their loved one is dead, but I sure didn't kill them.

I understand if they are mad because the sheriff's offices SAR Teams failed to find them. Again, out of my control.

I understand if the sheriff's or police department doesn't want to investigate their loved one's death other than it was either suicide or natural causes. (mostly drug related now a days). But again, don't take it out on me. The old saying "Don't shoot the messenger" has true meaning.

What I will miss when I finally call it quits is the bringing closure to the families when No one else would or could.

Total finds people and pets live and dead 4,448.

How many other dog handlers in the world can say they've been as successful?

Again all of my documented finds and assisted finds have been validated by a third party often a family member of the missing and or law enforcement or both.

To all of you who have supported me and my efforts I want to say thank you.

To all of you harry haters who have tried with all of your false statements, bad mouthing me to who ever will listen. I want to say "Go Fuck Yourself."

There will always be haters out there. But you all must realize that the families don't need to hear your bullshit. They are emotionally charged and don't deserve your egos and politics.

To date everything I've said and done has been documented, supported and validated in the courtroom as an expert witness regarding all aspects of SAR, K9 SAR, Scent evidence and forensic scent evidence.

I'll never forget the look on the sheriff's face when he refused my offer to assist in searching for a missing child down in Albany, Oregon. He and his divers, search dogs, ground teams, helicopters searched for 3 days without any luck. When the child's father called me in privately and it took me only 20 minutes to find and recover the child's body, the sheriff was speechless when I went up and shook his hand and said "good job" I'm the guy you didn't want in here yet here I am and it only took me 20 minutes. Shame on you".

His family still sends me thank you cards and emails for bringing closure to their son's case when no one else could or would.

I also remember the live recoveries. Though they are rare, they are still in my memory as happy times that come with this job.

I'm going to try to keep doing this job for a few more years, but I'm getting old and my body has taken a beating over the last 48 years of working SAR. Arthritis, knee replacements, shoulder injury, etc.

We'll see. Taking it one day a time to help others in their time of need.

Respectfully

Three days ago I was called upon to help a family whose 12 yo daughter disappeared out of Chehalis, Wa.

The mom had posted on social media (Craigslist, facebook, tiktok, and instagram and had no luck finding her daughter.

While the family was trying to follow up on a lead in down town Portland, Ore. they received photos of their daughter naked, bound, gagged and the message said "Send us $7,000.00 or we'll kill her and send her home in pieces.

Of course the family was distraught.

While they were downtown they met up with four other families going through the same thing. (searching for their runaway / missing children.

When the mom went to the police, the police showed her the photo was photoshopped from one of her social media postings and this was a "Fraud".

The daughter was later found safe and taken to the hospital and is now at home where she belongs.

Warning. When you post on social media you fall victim to all the sick SOB's out there. Don't ever send anyone money for a loved one missing.

Report it to the police immediately.

Any questions?

Contact me.

Re missing person Warrenton, Ore. On 09-22-2020 International K9 SAR Services was asked to enter the private search for a missing person in Warrenton, Ore.

This request came in from the missing person's mother Mrs. Baker. I conducted two searches, each lasting about 3 hours in length. Using air scenting, tracking, trailing techniques, I was able to narrow the search area down from a 10 mile square area down to a 100 yard area north of 19th St and East of Hwy 101 Costco -Goodwill area.

Sadly the area is posted ("private property no trespassing"). So I was unable to proceed until I could get permission from the land owner to proceed with my search for the missing person.

The family conducted a private search on 10-03-2020 and was able to find his remains.

I hope this information clears up the false statements being made that I refused to continue the search efforts. We are not allowed on anyone's private property without the express permission of the land owner.

On 09-21-2020 International K9 Search and Rescue team Harry Oakes with his two search dogs Tyler and Ms Cindy Lou entered a private search in the area of Warrenton, Oregon for Mr. Mike Konecny.

The request for the search was from Mike's mother Mrs. Baker.

Mike was last seen alongside the road near the Lewis and Clark draw bridge on Alternate Highway 101. Aug. 2, 2020.

Because the area was so highly contaminated and vast, I conducted a combination of tracking, trailing, and air scenting and was able to narrow down the location of dead human remains to an area north of 19th st and East of hwy 101 behind the Goodwill, in Warrenton, Oregon.

10-03-2020  Human remains were located at 1400hrs. today by a private ground search team made up of the missing person's family and friends based on my SAR dog findings and alerts.

The medical examiners office will positively identify the remains and make public their findings when completed.
