Training medical examiner staff for cadaver work with dogs.

For 36 years I've been using my SAR dog teams to find both Live and Dead people and pets.

It's been so successful that I've been asked to train people from around the world. China, South Africa, St Croix USVI, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, USA, Philippines, etc.

About a year ago this young lady Becca with her dog Ember started training with me. She spent her own money, time, efforts, energy, to train in all aspects of SAR.

I don't believe in training just for one aspect. Each day is different. One day we may be involved in an avalanche search, the next day a drowning, the next day a mental health issue that leads us searching for the victim in urban, rural or wilderness areas.

Becca and Ember not only passed their exams, but have since been put to use by Cowlitz County Medical Examiner's office and Cowlitz Co. Sheriff's office to help find human remains.

When someone dies in a rural, wilderness, or water environment, it's not uncommon as the remains decompose for them to be spread out.

In the water this is done by the water current and fish, and other predatory animals.

On land this is done by predators (birds, coyotes, bears, cougars, etc).

In rural areas I've seen cats and dogs also assist in spreading the remains.

It's the dog handler and their dog's job to try and find as much of the remains as possible to help in identification of the victim, and burial of the victim's remains.

Becca and Ember have done several successful searches recovering human remains. I'm extremely proud of the both of them. (dog and handler). They are a great asset to both International K9 Search and Rescue Services as well as Cowlitz County Medical Examiner's office.

By Becca and Ember working together as a team, they have saved the Tax payers $$$$$ in their work.

This shows that my programs, training, testing, not only has worked for me, and the other thousands of dog handlers I've trained around the world, but it works for the local volunteer teams as well.

Congratulations to Becca and Ember and Cowlitz county Medical examiner's office for accepting this training.
A huge Thank you goes to Chief Medical examiner in Charge Mr. Timothy J. Davidson.

Respectfully
Mr. Oakes K9 SAR Coordinator

This is not complicated. Take a search dog team trained in water SAR and go to where the witnessed plane went into the bay. Take into consideration, time of incident, current direction, current speed, water temperature. 1). A SAR Dog would have absolutely NO Problem detecting human scent trapped inside the aircraft under water. 2). Once the SAR Dog alerts to location, mark it on GPS Maps, and place water marker at the location. 3). Call in USCG or US Navy who has underwater drones. Send it down to confirm plane location. Recover plane/victims. 4). Alert local island residence, fishermen/women, beach combers that they find human remains along the shoreline all the way up to Victoria. www.k9sardog.com
