T
hanksgiving and Christmas.
Two times of the years when friends and family come together to share lunch/dinner and memories.
Growing up as an air force brat I lived all around the world.
As an air force brat I learned that home is where the heart is. Family is the most important issue in ones life.
Now that all of my family is gone, (except my son and grand kids). All I have left are my friends, and my memories of my mom, dad, sister.
All the Thanksgivings, Christmas' we shared and the great food we ate.
During my time working as a police officer and EMT as well as my time volunteering and working in SAR, I've learned there are no guarantees for a tomorrow.
Medical issues, accidents, suicides, homicides, there are so many ways we lose our loved ones.
As I proceeded throughout my careers, I met folks from all around the world. Some slept in palaces, castles, (really) and some in card board boxes. It made me appreciate what I do have. My dogs, family, health.
So when you sit down at Thanksgiving lunch/dinner and or Christmas Lunch/dinner with your friends and family, take a moment and truly give thanks that you all have this time to share with each other. Tomorrow it could be gone.
Be safe. Don't drink and drive. Slow down out there and arrive alive.
Hugs and happy thanksgiving.
Love
Harry, Ms Cindy Lou, Mr. Max and family.
